GTA 6 System Requirements and Release Date [Latest Leak]

GTA 6 is the most awaited video game right now. Since the news broke that it is under development, the fans have been going gaga all over the internet. But, the real question is- what are the GTA 6 System Requirements? Knowing this is essential to find out if you can run it, or will your PC require an upgrade.

If you want to know about it, this post is specifically written for you. Here, I will tell you about the expected GTA 6 System Requirements, both minimum and recommended. Additionally, we’ll drop in all the latest reveals and leaks about the release date, in-game content, and more.

When is GTA 6 Going to be Released?

GTA 6 is the next expected release in the massively popular action-adventure video game series, Grand Theft Auto (GTA) by Rockstar Games. The latest release was GTA V released in 2013 for consoles and in 2015 for Windows computers. Almost 7 years have passed since the release of GTA V and fans are now eagerly awaiting the next release, that is GTA 6.

However, Rockstar Games hasn’t announced a release date for their most awaited game currently. All we know that it is under development and they may release it sometime between late 2021 and early or mid-2022. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, even that would get delayed.

The Rockstar Games development studios are located in Scotland and New York. Since both the locations have suffered a lot due to the Coronavirus, we can’t tell if they’ll release GTA 6 soon.

Are there any Official Announcements?

As of now, there are no official announcements from the GTA publisher, Rockstar Games. All we know is that game development has started and the main game content is under development. Also, it is going to be released for Sony’s PlayStation 5 and Microsoft’s upcoming Xbox console ‘Project Scarlett‘ first. Then, it’ll be released for Microsoft Windows.

We can also expect it to be released on Google Stadia, Google’s cloud gaming service. We can’t confirm if it’ll be released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. If they didn’t release it for older consoles, that’d be unfortunate. But, only time will tell that. As soon as there is an official announcement, we’ll inform you.

 GTA 6 System Requirements

One thing is for sure that GTA 6 will be released for Windows computers sooner or later. So, it wouldn’t be wrong to check if your PC will be capable of running it. To know that, you have to check the GTA 6 System Requirements. If your computer’s specifications match the required specifications, only then you can run GTA 6 on your computer. Or else, you’ll have to upgrade.

Here are the expected GTA 6 System Requirements. We don’t know the official requirements yet since the game is still under development. But, from the information that we know such as the game engine, rumored visuals, etc, we can calculate the expected system requirements.

Minimum GTA 6 System Requirements

Here are the minimum GTA 6 System  Requirements. You MUST meet these on your computer to run GTA 6. If you have specs below than these, then there is no chance for your PC to run GTA 6. Unless you upgrade to better specs, obviously.

  • Processor: Intel Core i5-4460 3.2GHz / AMD FX-8350
  • System Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Storage: 65 GB Hard drive space
  • Graphics: AMD Radeon R9 390 or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 4GB
  • VRAM: 4GB
  • OS: Win 10 64
  • DirectX 12 Compatible Graphics Card

Make sure you have these or higher on your PC. Also, playing games on minimum system requirements doesn’t guarantee you the best gaming experience as the game may stutter or lag. To play it smoothly, you will have to meet the recommended system requirements.

Recommended GTA 6 System Requirements

Here are the recommend GTA 6 System Requirements that you should have to play the game smoothly. If you have these, the game will run on your PC without any lags or stutters. Also, it will not crash and you’ll have optimal gaming experience.

  • Processor: Intel Core i5-10500 6-Core 3.10GHz / AMD Ryzen R7 1700
  • System Memory: 16 GB RAM
  • Storage: 65 GB Hard drive space
  • Graphics: AMD Radeon RX 5700 8GB or NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 6GB
  • VRAM: 8GB
  • OS: Win 10 64
  • DirectX 12 Compatible Graphics Card

These are the expected recommended system requirements. If you have specs lower than these, I’d recommend that you use the time left for the GTA 6 release to upgrade your PC. Or, you can just wait for the official announcements and then go for an upgrade.

Latest GTA 6 Reveals & Leaks

We have so many leaks, reveals, and rumors about GTA 6 making waves on the web. A Reddit user, JackOLantern, who is well-known for providing accurate leaks has suggested ‘Project Americas’ is the codename for GTA 6. He has presented 23 points in his ‘Project Americas’ leaks. Let’s take a look at his and other prominent leaks:

  • GTA 6 will be set across multiple countries. It will be mainly set in Vice City, and a new fictional location based on Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. We can also see Liberty City making a limited comeback.

  • It will be set in the 1970s and 1980s era, where you’ll be playing as an aspiring drug lord, Ricardo. You’ll start by running cocaine from Vice City to the new South American locations.
  • He has suggested that the game will have a single male protagonist, and another key character Kacey. According to some other rumors, the game’s storyline could have 3 males and 1 female lead character.

  • The game will feature a chapter system like modern games.
  • Different weather and calamities like floods, hurricanes, etc will be a part of the game.
  • The game will also feature a massive prison playing a key role in the storyline.
  • We can also expect the Madrazo family to make an appearance in the game.

  • Rockstar Games started the game development in 2012 but focused on it around 2015.

These are all the leaks for now but I won’t recommend believing them as they are only rumors. And, you should only take rumors with a pinch of salt.

Final Verdict

GTA 6 is not yet released but fans have been crazily waiting for it. However, there are no official announcements from Rockstar Games. We only know that game development has started and it may release sometime in 2022. It will be available for all the latest consoles along with Windows computers.
